Where do you want to be in six (6) months?

The year is half way gone.  Memorial Day was last month and soon we will be celebrating the 4th of July.   Most people don’t remember their New Year’s resolutions and definitely have not completed them.

 What do you have to show for your results of 2013?  Was it to lose weight? Was it to go back to school?  How about finding a job or perhaps leaving one?  For me it has been to blog more, which as you can see by my lack of posts that hasn’t happened.

 How do we ever decide what our resolutions are, who keeps track?  In my opinion the things we promise ourselves at the beginning of each year are the things that are typically important to us and the things we have been putting off.

I have been putting off writing my first e-book.  To be fair, I have started the book but I have been putting off completing it.  So one of my 2013 resolutions is to complete my first e-book.  The book is one of the many steps I have taken toward my financial freedom.  (Financial Freedom, another discussion at another time).  So back to my original question;

 Where do you want to be in six (6) months?

Now is the time to take stock of where you are in your life and where you want to be.  Often times we get caught up on the treadmill called life.  That treadmill goes around and around without actually going anywhere.  Think about this for a few minutes:

 How many times have you asked yourself why am I doing this?

Why am I here or;

I wish things were different.

We make comments about our lives and say things like if only I had more money.  If only I had more time.  If only I knew then what I know now I would have done things different…..IF ONLY!

To that I say STOP! Stop wasting your breath on what will never be.  Stop wasting time on things you cannot change and STOP looking everywhere else for the answers that can be found inside you.

The best gift we can give ourselves over the next 6 months is a clear purpose.  By purpose a singular goal to focus on and achieve.  The goal can be part of many goals.  But the main result from this is to be able to focus all our energy in one clear direction to accomplish something.

 Students entering college as Freshmen have many goals. Their primary one being to finish the 4 or 5 years of college and earn a degree.  This can be a long journey but as long the student continues to work towards the end result they are moving forward.  Who doesn’t want to feel like they are making progress?

Goals and resolutions can be fluid as in go back to school, then change jobs then make a 6 figure income.  They can be fixed as in Lose 40 pounds.  It could be as simple as that or complicated.  As in go to Egypt to see the Pyramids then shop on Gaza Strip.

My point simply is that we must learn to put our energy and time into achieving the things we want from life.  A fairy Godmother is not going to waive a magic wand say Hocus Pocus and make your life better.  We have to do that on our own.  You will be amazed how easy things become when we continually work to accomplish our goals in life.

If this seems like a foreign concept to you then you should read “The Secret of the Millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Eker.  This book has inspired and helped me to realize more of my potential.  Reading this book will help you to understand how your mind can be your best friend or worse enemy.  Here is a link to Barnes and Noble.com   Here is some information from my Peak Ambassador website, Millionaire Intensive

 And now here we are back again to my original question.
