In Memory of the Fallen

Today is September 11, 2009. Where were you when the Towers fell? Where were you when you watched the replay of the planes hitting the buildings or when you realized that 3 American planes crashed into buildings and 1 went down in an open field? That day will live forever in the hearts and minds of us all.
On September 11, 2001 I was home from work with Strep Throat. I woke to the sound of my husband (at the time) yelling and screaming at the television. Well, being that it was early in the morning I just figured it was a replay of something related to sports. As I woke out of my haze and walked towards the television I seen it. I saw a plane crash into one of the Towers and immediately asked, "What are you watching, what's the name of this show?" My mind did not grasp that he was watching the news and the images were not Hollywood but real. They were the most real, because it was happening as we were watching. It took a few minutes for my brain to register the severity of what was happening. Even after I managed to get it, I was in shock, horror, disbelief!!
Then, I was on autopilot, I began thinking America is under attack. I got worried and scared wondering what would be targeted next. For hours on end I was glued to the television, yes the world as we knew it was over. It felt like time stopped and we were all stuck in the moments leading to and just after the September 11.

Everyone has something to share and a story of Where were you when...? Let's continue to keep the fallen and all the families in our minds and hearts. Reader's that's my story, let me know where you were and what you were doing? The tragedy may be gone but NEVER FORGOTTEN.
